OUR NEW HOME

Our new home in Kisumu is in the same building

where the church meetings are held.

entrance to our library. There is an entrance to the right

by the truck parking area that enters to the living room.

There is also a door on the left that is the entrance to the church, 

 

Way in the back yard is the baptismal font and

outdoor toilet and dressing room to the left of the font.

Our apartment is in the bottom level and some offices

and classrooms are there also.

The second level are classrooms, and offices also.

The top floor is the Sacrament Meeting room and a classroom.

 

Our bathroom. There is one working tap on the tub and

one in the sink. They are both cold water. We must turn

the water on then walk to the doorway and flip the

switch to the heater for the hot water in the bathtub.

We must also turn off the heater before we turn off the water.

The door opens to an enclosed patio where there are

clothes lines and a water tank (for when the water is off).

My stove/oven is called a barbie stove by the

senior sisters. Guess why!!

Note the white water heater on the cupboard by the

microwave. That is how we heat out kitchen water.

 There is a large pantry/ storage area on the left and out the

door here is  the dining area.

is where the keyboard is set for the music.

and the door on the right is a bathroom and that is where my

laundry machines are located.

STORM CLOUDS ROLLING IN

 

Coming home from Busia on

Sunday afternoon we watched as

the storm clouds rolled in.

We went through the heavy rain fall and then

it cleared up so pretty!!

Beautiful blue sky again.

 

Our travel home was an hour less time because

there wasn't so much traffic!!

FIRST TRIP TO BUSIA

We went to Busia on Saturday evening.

It took 3 and a half hours to travel about 112 kilometers.

The roads were very busy with boda bodas, piki pikis,

matatus and walkers as well as lorries and cars!!

There were a LOT of potholes and speed bumps and

and very slow rocky diversion, also.

 

We met the missionaries at the church and also

         Sister Robai. Sister Robai took us to our hotel.

We went back to the church and took the missionaries

to meet President Imende at his home.

 

Sister Imende met us there and she prepared dinner

for us as we visited with their sons.

When the food was ready we were served and soon

President came home from his work.

I forgot to take a picture of the food until we were nearly finished.

We had rice, a chicken broth with chicken pieced, potatoes and

tomatoes, and chipati (similar to tortillas).

This is our hotel room. It was comfortable and had a fan

mounted on the wall that was so appreciated!!

With Sister Robai. She teaches seminary, her husband is

in the branch presidency and she was so good to

make hotel reservations for us and show us the way to it.

meetings are held. It is upstairs and faces the street.

Some of them were taken through the windshield

if the truck so they may not be very clear.
