KENYA ARRIVAL

ARRIVAL IN KENYA

We left flew out of the Salt Lake Airport to Chicago
then on to London.
Here is the plane ready to load in England for Kenya.

Three couples met us at the airport in Nairobi and took
us to their flats where they cared for us while we were in Nairobi.
Elder and SIster Moon stayed with Elder and Sister Kellems.
On Wednesday morning we were all taken to the Mission office
and church compound for instruction and
mission orientation by Sister Olsen the office sister.
We walked to the government office
with Dikens for fingerprinting and registration.
We received the temporary papers to be residences of Kenya.
For lunch we went to a nice restaurant near the office with
the office couple, the host couples and new couples.
On Thursday evening all the couples in Nairobi
had dinner together at the mission home.
Each couple told about themselves to get acquainted.
On Friday morning we
met with President and Sister Broadbent at the
mission home for interviews and blessings.
President and Sister Broadbent are very great people
and we loved them from the beginning!
Elder and Sister Kellems then drove us to Kisumu in our truck.
We each took a turn driving to
acquaint us with the roads and trying yo get
used to driving on the left side of the road.
We drove to Eldoret and spent the night with
Elder and Sister Babcock. Kellems' stayed in a hotel.
Saturday morning we came on to Kisumu.
Here we are opening the front door of our new home.
Elder and Sister Kellems took us shopping and then we were
going to go out to eat but the restaurant we were going to
was closed for a private party so we came
back to our home and fixed spaghetti and a cabbage salad.
While we were eating there was a very heavy rainstorm!!
We were sio glad we were not at the outdoor restaurant!!
Mary is our day security guard.
She is very nice and has just started this job.
She is here every day from 6 am to 6 pm.
