We ate our meals here.
Our server took a real liking to Brynna!!
Then out on the game drive.

Can you spot the LION?
GREY-CROWNED CRANE
GRIFFON VULTURES having a meal of someones left-over
Digging on for the last little bit!!
GRIFFON VULTURE standing guard for the others.
We saw many, many SPOTTED HYENA!!
Crossing the MARA RIVER
Carcasses of the wildebeest crossing.
LIONS
We saw a pride of lions having a rest near a bush.
Then they moved around a bit.

One came out to the road and rested there.
Notice the "battle" mark on his side!!

BLACK-BACKED JACKAL

MASAI VILLAGE
As we left the Masai Mara Game Conversary we visited a
MASAI VILLAGE
The chief is counting the money we gave him so we could
visit, take pictures and buy their wares!!
There is also a helper (on the left), Susanne, Isaac, Rett, Brynna
The children of the village stood next to a hut and sang to us!!
Brynna with the children.
Brynna and Susanne with their new friends.
Children care for children!
Then the men performed for us.
They are jumpers and each had to show us what they could do.
Then they invited Rett to join them!!
Then Elder Moon joined them!!
A new friend for Rett.
Let;s try that again!!
Then the women lined up and sang and swayed.
Other women.
Love their outfits?!
An old mama.
Susanne,, Brynna and Sister Moon joined them.
We tried and even were allowed to wear the jewelry and
of course they wanted us to buy it - which we did!
Susanne, Brynna and their dancing friend.
Demonstrating how to make a fire with a stick and friction.
Then they wanted us to buy the stick and the wood it sat on -
of course - we didn't.
Rett and Elder Moon has done this before.
Pretty beads!!
They took turns turning the stick for the sparks.
They had the shavings on the knife and there was....
finally a spark and the dry weeds were added for a fire...
...which was pushed onto the other weeds for a fire.
Fresh dung was put on the fire and then stomped on to
extinguish the fire!
The center is made of a smaller compound where the animals
are housed at night.
On the left is the inner compound.
These ewes came into the outer compound while we were there
and they were bleating and bleating...
....their lambs were inside a small pen and they were also
crying for the mothers!!
THE DUNG HUTS
Their huts were made by the wife from cow dung.
Inside was no light and we went in and found a place to sit or stand.
This man has a long gourd in which they put milk and blood
for their drink.
Rett and Brynna and the sleeping area behind them.
They do their cookin over the fire pit and grate.
A man sitting on the other side of the room.

Notice the hole for the dishes and the drainer on the top.
This is a very nice cooking area!! The ceiling.
The home is built for the height of the wife and anyone else
must make do with that.
The sleeping area.
Rett and Elder Moon coming out of the sitting room.
Rett, Susanne and Brynna with members of the tribe.
Sister and Elder Moon with members of the tribe.
Children learn early to carry and care for the babies.
A view of their compound. There are bushes growing around the
perimeter as a protection and there are entrances with gates
for members to enter.
Do you want to buy my beads!
Rett and Susanne's purchases up for bargaining!!
The whole family is in on the bargaining!!
We are home in Nairobi!!
Kyalo and Isaac - our drivers and guides.
We loved the journey - safari - as we saw the beautiful
creations of out loving Heavenly Father.
The scenery was great and the animals amazing!!
So thankful we were able to be together in this adventure.
