For Christmas this year. President and Sister Hicken requested
that the missionaries do the 12 days of Christmas
for a member family in the branch or an investigator family.
We selected Elias and Helen's family.
Instead of doing something each day we packed all the little gifts
into a bag and labeled them by days and took the big bag to them.
They could open a gift each day.
On Christmas eve we visited the family of Elias and Helen
and read the Christmas story from the Bible and
we each shared our testimonies
While we were in their home they provided us with dinner.
This is James eating some chapati.
This is Elias James and Helen having dinner.
The food was delicious, but simple.
They were so appreciative of the gift that we had given them
for the 12 days of Christmas. They felt that the Lord had sent us to them.
We felt the same way. We had been inspired to serve this family.
This was a wonderful time for us as well as for them.
They are members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints
and in April will be going to the Temple to be sealed together
as a family and to receive their Temple ordinances.
