We took the Elders to a recent convert's home
and then came back to our home through the villages neat Kisumu.
As we were driving we met many people near the side of
the road and then several piki piki were coming at us head on.
One whirled around and stopped and told us to get off the road.
We knew something was coming.
Sure enough there was a large group of people walking and
some vehicles loaded with people with those who were walking.

It was a funeral and they were bringing the body to the village
and their compound for burial near the home.
Of course we had pulled of the road into a nearby compound
and watch the procession pass by.
There was also a large group of cows being herded among the people.
We knew that this must have been a wealthy person to have so
many cows.
More cows passed by.
People walking along to the home compound.
Some were dressed in tribal dress and some had drums.
The van is very full of people mourning.
Trucks were very loaded also with people.
Piki pikis were also very loaded!!
Traveling on we came to the river we had driven by another time.
Children and adults were enjoying the water and also using
it for good purposes.
Cows also were headed to the water...
Later we saw this truck loaded with cows.
Another day we saw many boda bodas with water jugs as
people were taking the water to homes for the people's use.
Heads were made for more than thinking!
Useful for carrying all sorts of things including these plants.
A road we travel on frequently.
These boda bodas carry a wide variety of packages and
other things. These large bags are heavy and
I would think it takes some great balancing skills to
keep the boda boda going straight.
These large containers are used for water. Nearly everyone
had to go some distance to get water for use in the homes and
grounds. How many can one boda boda carry. These are
not full of water but are probably being taken to a market
to sell to people to use for their water.
Can you tell that there are two boda bodas here?
More plants being carried to their homes.
A common sight is chickens being varied home for dinner
or taken to another place to sell for someone else's dinner.
Aren't these plastic crates useful??!!
Especially when they are strapped to a piki piki?
Lovely country side!
We have seen a LOT of loads and this is another one!
What a great country with awesome people.
