ERICAH WITH MAIZE

June 20, 2013

At Ericah's today we met her son's mother-in-law.
Their children live in Minnesota, USA
Ericah's son, Ericah, Julianna, Elder Moon
For the small meal we had she served us boiled maize.
She had some young ears that were more like we eat at home.
They usually grow it long we so it is hard and dry.
When we were leaving she took us to the maize field
and picked us some young cobs to take home with us.
Here she is in the maize.
Her granddaughter who was helping her for the day.
Road work on the way home.
They are repairing pot holes.
More road repair - being done by hand labor.
More repair. The bags there are filled with a filler
to cover over the dirt after in it is the pothole.
A huge bag of something and a passenger on the pikipiki.
Some loads are too heavy to be able to peddle
the bodaboda up the hills.
This is not a very clear picture but I think you can see what it is.
A woman with a baby and packages balanced on the
back of a boda boda!!
This was over a  bumpy dirt road.
