SHELDRICK ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE
After the Giraffe Center we went to the Elephant Orphanage
Brynna with a huge cactus near the entrance.
First there were three very young (less then two months)
elephants brought in just for observation.
The bottles of formula for the larger elephants were nearly half as tall
as the young ones.
Susanne and Brynna waiting for the next group to come...
Here they come for their lunch.
Each one knew where to go to get their bottle of formula.
After gulping down two bottles it was play time!!
Rolling in the dirt pile.
This is much like taking a bath! The dirt removes the bugs
and other debris from their skin.
Not such a good picture but Brynna did get to rub a young elephant!!
Climbing on each other in the dirt.
The ones to the right are drinking from the tub of water.
Look like fun?!
Romping and climbing in the dirt!!
Having a taste of leaves for dessert!
These elephants are as old as five years.
This one had quite a struggle to get out of the mud pit.
Brynna and Rett enjoying the elephants in front of them.
Drinking their lunch.
When they are capable they are able to hold their own bottle!!
Wallowing in the mud pit.
Pretty long eye lashes!!
ENJOY THE DIRT!!
ENJOY!!
