STEVEN'S ORPHANAGE AND SCHOOL
NAZARENE CHILD
NAZARENE CHILD
After visiting Kazuri Beads we met (PEF Missionaries)
and followed them to the school run by Steven Kyalo in Nairobi.
We are following Elder and Sister Richardson to the orphanage.
The school and orphanage are in an impoverished area.
The roads are narrow and busy with shops and kiosks for businesses.
Arriving there were had a place to park and.....
......the children came running.
They were just returning to the classroom from a break.
They knew Elder and Sister Richardson
very well from previous visits and service projects.
They love Sister Richardson and she LOVES them!!
The children soon gathered around the cute mazungu girl with the
blond hair and her father. They were an immediate hit.
Brynna and Susanne in the office and library.
Looking at the charts in a classroom.
As a teacher Susanne was very interested in the supplies
and curriculum for the different classes.
The students all met in a large building for a program and
entertainment for the visitors.
Susanne and Brynna near the kitchen where the food is prepared.
From the kitchen the latrine building can be seen.
The latrine was dug by Steven and the missionaries and
the whole school was so happy to have a place they can go.
Songs and dancing by the students were great and we taught
them the fun song "Elephants Have Wrinkles"
After this we walked to the orphanage but my camera
had died so no pictures of today's visit.
This was an awesome day.
One never to be forgotten.
