February 23, 2013
Our February trip to Busia was on February 23.
The Elders had arrived in Kisumu on Friday the 22nd
so we took them with us to Busia the next day.
It was good having company on the travels.
Elder Bhala is from Uganda and has been in Busia for
two transfers. His new companion is
Elder Simango from Uganda, also.
We were going for a teacher training for the
Seminary and Institute teachers and a
leadership training for the Branch leaders.
The Elders
had planned a baptism also for the same time.
When the font was filled they had the baptism
and those who were there attended the baptism
then we had the training meeting.
Elder Simango, John, Elder Bhala
John was baptized by Elder Bhala and was
confirmed the next day by President Imende.
These sisters came for the teacher and leadership training.
Sister Violet is a Seminary teacher and this is her first year teaching.
She is also a counselor in the Primary.
Sister Robai is also a Seminary teacher and she has taught
for several years. She is also the YW President
Sister Marcelina is the Relief Society President.
These women are great and I just love each of them.
Traveling we saw this matatu loaded with one of their
passengers furniture. Hope it doesn't rain !!
Just outside of Kisumu there is road construction project for
the road to be widened. This was the scene the day we passed.
