On our driving around town or from here to there
we keep a camera handy for whatever we may see.
These are what we see here and there and
out and about.
Much of the road work is done by manual labor
as seen here.
This may be hard for you to see but I can see it in my mind also.
Matatus are a main means of transportation here.
When people travel they take with them what they
need to transport and the matatu drivers
mount the items inside and on top of the vehicle.
Here a whole set of furniture for a sitting room is loaded on top.
Cabbages are taken to market to be sold in the dukas.
As I said matatus are for transportation AND
for carrying whatever you need to take with you.
This is a good way to keep the package on top!!
Piki pikis are also an important mode of transportation.
And anything can be carried on one.
This woman is holding a small baby on her lap on the
piki piki. Perfect balance!!
One day at the property owned by the church here
in Kisumu wwe checked out a hole into the ground
that was probably used as a septic tank.
It needs a cover so someone doesn't walk into it!!

Someone is getting a new mattress....
Road work along the way.
Note the plant marking the area to avoid.
Another plant marking another area in repair.
