ELDORET AND KERIO VIEW

August 30, 2013
There was district Conference in the Eldoret District
so we went to Eldoret.
We also had Zone Conference the day following the Conference.
We stayed with Elder and Sister Anderson and saw this
wagon loaded with logs as we left their home.
These find men waved and smiled for us to take the picture.
Neat the AEldoret Chapel is this tent village made from
UN tents for refugees, It was COLD while we were here
and we wondered how they could keep warm in the  nights!
Near the refugee camp were these pens and shanties.

KERIO VIEW

We arrived in ELdoret on Friday morning to help with transport
and inthe afternoon we had free time so we went with
Elder and Sister Anderson to the Kerio View -
a restaurant resort and view area overlooking the North Rift Valley.
As we ate our lunch we watch these
Black and White Colebus Monkeys
eating and playing in the well groomed yard.

These are Eastern Colobus Monkeys.
They usually eat on berries, fresh leaves, bark,
seedpods. and some insects.
Wonder what they were finding today hidden in the grass and soil.
In the lodge restaurant was a huge fireplace that has a
huge fire to keepthe guests warm on the cold evenings.
The upper level above the fireplace
adorned with lovely carvings and artifacts.
A nice view of the bar area.
A giraffe keeps watch over the toilets.
The view looking into the North Rift Valley.
The day was a little hazy and the picture doesn;t show the
beautiful view into the valley.
Looking another direction.
You can just barely see the valley floor above the last green
ledge over the escarpment.
A gazebo in the manicured gardens.
Looks scary but gives good decoration in the gardens.
What a beautiful sight!!
