MORMON HELPING HANDS KISUMU

Saturday, August 17, 2013 members and non-members 

 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 

met at the Manyatta Activity Center in Kisumu 

to participate in the 

Mormon Helping Hands Service Project. 

 Participants were supplied with the yellow aprons and gloves. 

There were also brooms (for inside and outdoors) 

and mopping supplies. The participants were 

divided into two groups – some to sweep the compound 

and surrounding area and some to pick up trash. 

The entire was compound was cleaned and the 

sides of the roads and ditches. 

All of the outside courtyard and meeting rooms 

were also swept, mopped and straightened.

After the outside clean-up was completed the

inside of the Hall was swept and mopped. 

Even the rafters in the ceiling were cleaned.

The branch provided sandwiches and juice 

for the participants and some of the people

 passing by even stopped in for some refreshment.

It was amazing to see people working together 

regardless of religion and background. 

All seemed to come together for one purpose in mind 

 and that was to serve the people of Manyatta 

in cleaning their community gathering facilities.

Thank you for this yearly event that

helps is work and socialize together.

When all was done outside the inside needed to be mopped.

All was busy for the task at hand and it didn't take long.

The Elders and Sisters find the brooms work very well in mopping also.
