On our Preparation Day rather than the same thing as usual
our Kisumu District went to Lake Victoria to see what was there.
Elder Mahlaba was the only missionary that had been there
so it was a treat for the others.
DUNGA BEACH
This is really Win Bay off Lake Victoria.
Across the way women were doing their laundry.
A boat of mazungas ready to go out on the lake to see the hippos
waved to us on the pier.
Elder Jackson and Elder Lewis on the end of the pier.
Here is a village of peoplk who depend on fishing for their livlihood.
Net repair is an important activity for their work.
Sister Namagaya, Sister Eisis, Sister Moon on the pier.
Taklented Elder Hansen showing what he can do!!
Sister Namagaya giving it a try -
although not so close tot he end of the pier!!
This young boy just sitting on the pier watching us and the birds.
Can you see the fish this woman is holding?
Pretty good sized cat fish along with several others in her basket.
Since we were here last the men have built new tables for thr
women to work on and lay out the fish to dry.
The women were veery proud and grateful for them -
their backs don't hurt so much now as they did when they worked
on the grounds
The women were also proud of their new "jickos" that were
larger and off the ground making is so much easier to cook the fish!
Near water are birds and they like the fish and they took
advantage of the drying fish that were so easy to get and eat!!
KIBOKO BAY

There are many hippos that liveinthe water here and come out
for the night time all along the coast here.
Wehave never seenthem because during the day time they are
out too far and it is usually dark when they come onto the shore.
Tranquil view of the bay.
Cottages for people to rent in the resort area.
