TRUCK OIL CHANGE

Being past time for an oil change we engaged

Mike to change the oil for us.

Elder Moon had already changed the air filter

and had gone three times over the course
of three weeks to the dealer to 

purchase the oil filter!!

So with filter in hand we found Mike and we took him

to the shop where he works.

Just park here - at the side of the road -

and we'll take care of it.

After a walk with Elder Moon

to a nearby shed to buy oil

he is soon under the hood and busy

loosening whatever needs to be loosened.

They are paid for the work they do and not a salary.

His co-worker Titus (also a member of the Church)

is doing the under body work. He is lying on a 

piece of cardboard they found somewhere nearby.

They brought a rope that was fed from the bottom

to the top and was hooked under something to hold it up

so they could do what needed to be done.

Under the truck they placed two old oil jugs with the lid on

and one side of each cut out in order to catch the dirty oil.

It was determined that the gas filter also should be changed

so another walk with Elder Moon to a little shed

for the part. 

They even had one for the make and model of the truck.

Then they had to open it to insert it.

A screwdriver was inserted and another tool was used as 

a lever to turn the knob that need to be turned.

It took both of these fine men to turn the piece so it could be used.

Meanwhile, Elder Moon and myself were comfortable

in the waiting area on the chairs brought by a man.

The row of men by the building were chatting and the one

in yellow on the chair appeared to be preparing a computer piece.

Across the street was a body shop and this "matatu"

was being worked on.
There was a  lot of banging and pounding!!

Finally the time came to pour in the nice clean oil.

To dispose of the dirty oil they opened the lid of  the 

catching jug and poured the oil into the empty
container of the clean oil.

We see many of these carts throughout town. 

This one contains water jugs that are taken wherever 

they need the water.
