ELDER BRIAN AND SISTER CHRISTINE MISSIONARIES

February 6, 2013
When we first arrived in Kenya we were
given missionary calls to deliver to Kisumu Branch.
The time has now arrived for these two fine young people
to leave to serve!!
On February 6 we went to Christine's home to take her
to the airport.

This is the path/street her home is near.
This is looking in the other direction.
It was 7 am so there wasn't as much activity as later
it would be but still enough to be careful with driving!!

Christine and her friend Celestine.
George had come to the church to take us to her home
and we met Celestine on the street and she showed us to
Christine's place.
Notice the candle for light. It was very dark in the
home as there were no windows or electricity.
Coming out the door.
Back at the church we met Brian and the group from Nyabondo.
Brian had come the night before and when George asked
him where ha had stayed he said, "Oh, around."
We had suggested that he come the night before
(we knew had a cousin in Kisumu)
because we weren't sure he would make it on time in the morning.
Others from Nyabondo came that morning and made it in time!!
The whole group:
Brian, his mother, Christine, George, Joyce,
Kenneth, Celestine, Kenneth's wife.
Brian's mother, Brian, George (counselor in BP),
Kenneth and his wife from Nyabondo.
Christine, George, Celestine, Joyce from Kisumu,
Sister Moon, Sister Christine, Elder Moon
Sister Moon, Elder Brian, Elder Moon
Elder Brian and his mother at the airport.
Sister Christine and her friend Celestine at the airport.
Sister Christine, George, Elder Brian
Elder and Sister Moon with the missionaries.
They had an 8:30 am flight to Nairobi.
They were both set apart in the afternoon after
attending District meeting with the Upper Hills District.
Brian was outfitted with a new suit, shirts, shoes and sox.
The last good-bye!!
The missionaries spent the night in a Hotel
and the next morning (Feb 7)
Brian flew to South African for training at the MTC
in Johannesburg..
Christine and Celestine with a last hug.
On Feb 9 Christine flew to the MTC in Accra Ghana for
training before serving in the Ghana Accra Mission.
Boarding the plane.
Neither had ever been on a plane and the visitors
had lots of questions as we waited for the plane to take off.
It was hard to believe that within an hour they would
be in Nairobi - usually a 7 to 8 hour bus ride!!
