NO HIPPOS TONIGHT (FOR US)

April 18. 2013
We have been waiting since December for the
water hyacinths to move away from the shore of
Lake Victoria
so the hippos would come out for us to see them.
Steven has told us that when he came home from school
in April it should be cleared.
We have checked several times ad finally they were gone.
We were supposed to go the night before but
it was raining and we didn't want to go in the rain.
That night a man was killed by a hippo when the man
got between the hippo mother and her child!!
AND the hippos were out early!!!
Steven said to meet him at Kiboko Bay and he's show us
the best places to see the hippos.
So we met Steven at Kiboko Bay.
Some pretty trees at the bay.
(Click on the picture to enlarge)
We walked to another ares near the lake to get a closer view
and they were more likely to come here.

Beautiful view across the bay.
On a narrow strip of ground was a pretty white bird.
From the sunset it appeared more yellow in the picture.
While we were waiting and watching a boat
was launched for fishing.
Beautiful in the setting sun light.
It somewhat reminded me of Jesus and the Sea of Galilee.
Storm clouds rolling in.....
The picture doesn't do it justice....
It was all but dark and still no sighting of a hippo.
Beautiful scenery and sky and a pleasant evening.
We had to get home before dark so maybe
another day!!??
